The gîte de l’Aubresset is situated on a very quiet road in a rural setting.
The surrounding countryside is made of rolling hills with fields, forests, walking tracks and old horse-drawn cart tracks that invites you to walking and picnicking.

The closest city is Périgueux at 6 km distance with a very pleasant city centre, many shops and restaurants and the magnificent cathedral of Saint Front.

It is a welcoming city, the colors of Tuscany, which did not cease to amaze you. Gem of South-West in the forefront of arts and heritage is an exceptional architectural complex in the heart of Perigord. From the ancient Gallo-Roman to medieval Vesunna - Renaissance, not to mention major sets of eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Périgueux offers more than 2000 years of history with 39 buildings listed or classified historic monuments including the Cathedral of St. Front.

The Dordogne is famous for its truffles. On our domain we have four hectares of truffle trees. The region is also well known for its ducks and foie gras, the nuts and wines such as Pommerol, Sauternes, Fronsac, Médoc, Saint Emillion, Graves…
All these products are available at local markets: Wednesday and Saturday in Périgueux and Thursdays in Saint Astier. During the whole summer you will find a lot of little markets in the area.
